Reports Have Carlos Zambrano Signing with LI Ducks

2012 Topps Red Parallel
According to reports the Long Island Ducks have signed former big league pitcher Carlos Zambrano. However, no public announcement has been made by the Ducks.

A four-time National League All-Star, Zambrano has a career 132-91 record with a 3.66 ERA in 12 big league seasons. He spent 11 of seasons with the Chicago Cubs before being traded to the the Miami Marlins in 2012. That season he posted a 7-10 record with a 4.48 ERA in 132.1 innings pitched.

Zambrano was once considered one of the most dominant pitchers in baseball, but a feisty over aggressive attitude led to public outbursts on and off the field, which ultimately led to his trade from Chicago to Miami.

You never truly know what a player is like until they arrive in your clubhouse or you meet them. I'm just hoping Zambrano can give the Ducks rotation a spark they need to help turn this season around. Zambrano may also be called on to provide some offense for the Ducks. He has a career .238 batting average with 24 home runs and 71 RBI during his major league career.
