The Houston Astros have assigned former second round pick (69th overall) Adrian Houser to the Tri-City ValleyCats of the New York-Penn League.

Houser, a highly regarded prospect out of Locust Grove High School in Oklahoma was selected 69th overall by the Astros in 2011.

The last two seasons he's played for the Astros rookie league teams where he posted a 5-8 record with a 4.25 in 106 innings pitched.

Houser throws 91-93 mph with a good curve ball.  He'll be in the Cats' starting rotation this season and could develop into their number one pitcher.
