Over the next week the Houston Astros organization will be assigning players from the 2013 MLB Draft to their new teams.

Right now the ValleyCats currently have five players listed on their roster. Here's a preview into those five players.

Juri Perez - RHP, - The 22-year-
old pitcher was used mostly a starter for the Valley Cats last season. He split time between Tri-City and Lexington (A), going 4-3 with a 2.58 between the two levels.  He'll mostly likely start the season in the Cats' rotation.

Euris Quezada - RHP,  (Baseball Cube Profile) The big right-hander was sensational in six games for the Valley Cats in 2012 not allowing a run in 9.1 innings pitched. He finished the season with a 4-5 record and a 4.62 ERA between Greenville (Rk), Tri-City (A-), and Lexington (A). After starting his career as a starter it looks like he's being groomed to be a closer.

Scott Zuloaga - LHP, (Baseball Cube Profile) - Zuloaga was solid in his brief time in Troy, not allowing a run in 5 innings pitched. He struggled when he was promoted to Single-A Lexington, giving up seven runs in only 6 innings pitched. He'll be used mostly out of the Cats' bullpen this summer.

Cristian Moronta - C, (Baseball Cube Profile) - Moronta only played 16 games last season, but showed glimpses of promise. He started the season in rookie ball and after some early success, he was quickly promoted to Lexington(A) in August. He hit .278 in Lexington but was leaped frog by Jobduan Morales in the organization and was sent down to Tri-City. He hit only .200 for the Valley Cats in three games.

Dan Gulbransen -OF, (Baseball Cube Profile) - Gulbransen was a 16th round (489th overall) selection by the Astros in the 2012 Major League Draft. He put up great power numbers for the Valley Cats in 2012, hitting six home runs with 37 RBI in 58 games. However, he only had a .218 batting average. Gulbransen shows a lot of potential but he'll need to work on his average if he hopes to get promoted at some point in the 2013 season.

Stay tuned for more previews of the ValleyCats roster over the next week!
