Tri-City ValleyCats Announce More Players

The Tri-City ValleyCats announced more additions to their roster today.

Kevin Comer, RHP - Comer was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the fist round (57th overall) of the 2011 MLB Draft. He was traded to the Astros in July 2012. Last season, he split time between Bluefield and Greeneville in the Appalachian League where he posted a 3-4 record with a 4.59 ERA in 49 innings pitched.

Tanner Bushue, RHP - Bushue was a second round (69th overall) by the Astros in the 2009 MLB Draft. Over the last three seasons he's played for the GCL Astros (Rk), Greeneville (Rk), and Lexington (A). He has a career 15-22 record with a 4.96 ERA in 281 innings pitched.

Pat Christensen, RHP - Christensen was selected by the Astros in the 27th round (797th overall) of the 2013 MLB Draft out of La Salle University. Last season he posted a 6-1 record with a 2.52 ERA and 11 saves for the Explorers. He has average 9.86 strike outs per nine innings during his college career.

Randall Fant, LHP - The Astros selected Fant in the 29th round (857th overall) in the 2013 MLB Draft out of the University of Arkansas. The left-hander was electric for the Razorbacks in 2013, going 6-1 with a 2.02 ERA in 66.2 innings pitched in an extremely tough Southeastern Conference.

Albert Minnis, LHP - Minnis was selected by Houston in the 25th round (737th overall) of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Wichita State University. In 59.1 innings last season, Minnis posted a 3-2 record with 3.19 ERA for the Shockers.

Zach Morton, RHP, - Morton was a 32 round (947th overall) selection by the Astros in the 2013 MLB Draft out of Northwestern University. He posted a 3-5 record with a 2.86 ERA as a pitcher, and hit .290 with one home run and 31 RBI as a second baseman for the Wildcats.

Anthony (Tony) Kemp, 2B - Kemp was drafted by Astros in the fifth round (137th overall) of the 2013 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt University. The speedy second baseman hit .391 with 34 stolen bases for the Commodores this past season.

Conrad Gregor, 1B - Conrad Gregor will be joining his college teammate Tony Kemp this summer in Troy. Gregor was a fourth round (107th overall) selection by the Astros in the 2013 MLB Draft out of Vanderbilt University. He hit .308 with three home runs with 48 RBI, while stealing 21 bases for the Commodores this past season.

Ryan Dineen, IF - Dineen started out the 2013 season with Quad Cities (A) in the Midwest League where he hit .197 with 14 RBI in 27 games. He was drafted by the Astros in the 25th round (759th overall) of the 2012 MLB Draft out of Eastern Illinios University.
