Every once in a while I need to take a step back for blogging and take care of my family. So if I go a few days without a post it's because I'm spending time with my family.
Thanks to all my readers who support me and continue to come back and read my blog!
With that said...
Over the next couple weeks I'll be traveling to a few different baseball venues that I'm excited about. I'm actually going to get a chance to meet up with some old friends, and meet some new ones.
This Saturday, I'll finally get back to Bellizzi Stadium to watch the Albany Dutchmen. The Dutchmen were ranked as high as 9th in the Perfect Game national rankings for college summer league teams a few weeks ago. They've faltered recently, but I hope they can get back to their winning ways.
On Sunday, I'll be heading over to Troy, NY to watch the Tri-City ValleyCats. The ValleyCats are playing some great baseball, and it's always a great atmosphere at "The Joe." I didn't get a chance to watch Mark Appel make his pro debut today, but I'm sure I'll get a chance to watch him pitch soon.
I'll be back at "The Joe" on Tuesday to watch the 'Cats play the Aberdeen Ironbirds. The game is a 11:00 AM start which is great because my job is located about five minutes from the field, so I can head right over after work. I haven't seen the Ironbirds yet this season so I'm excited to see them play.
After a few days off I'll be heading to Long Island for a wedding. I'm hoping to get done work early that day and beat the traffic down to Long Island, and catch the Port Jeff Ferry across the sound to watch the Long Island Ducks take on Bridgeport Bluefish. I'm also hoping to get a chance to meet up with fellow blogger, Vivianna Velazquez, who writes the blog, "The Fish Pen." I haven't met Vivianna yet, but we like to exchange jabs on twitter a lot. It's going to be extremely difficult to work a full day in Albany, NY then drive to Port Jefferson, NY and catch the ferry across to Bridgeport, CT. I'm hoping to pull it off.
The following Friday I'll heading to South Burlington, VT to visit my parents and watch the Vermont Lake Monsters. I'm excited to see the renovations that Lake Monsters have been done at Centennial Field. I'm also going to get the chance to catch up with Yahoo! NFL Blogger Andrew Martin. Andrew and I used to go to games at Centennial Field when the Lake Monsters were the Vermont Expos. Andrew not only blogs on the NFL, but baseball as well. He's given me great advice over the last few years on blogging, so it will be great to see him and watch a baseball game.
