Last week Luis Lopez became the Bridgeport Bluefish career leader in games played with a 735 games played!

Congratulations to Luis!

Lopez had a brief stint in the major leagues with the the Toronto Blue Jays in 2001, and again in 2004 with the Montreal Expos. After bouncing around the the independent league circuit in 2006 and 2007, he made a home for himself with the Bridgeport Bluefish in 2008. Since then he's been the face of the Bridgeport franchise, and a fan favorite around the league.

I love watching Luis play because he's an intense player, but at the same time really enjoys playing and frequently smiles. He continues to play the game that he loves year after year, while other players would have retired to pursue other opportunities. He's a true class act.
