This will be Ford's fifth season with the Ducks having played for them in parts of 2009, 2011, 2012, and 2013. He has a career .330 batting average with 24 home runs and 121 RBI with the Ducks.
Ford was originally drafted by the Boston Red Sox in the 12th round (379th) of the 1999 MLB Amateur Draft out of Dallas Baptist University. He played two seasons in the Boston Red Sox organization before he was traded to the Minnesota Twins in 2000. On May 29, 2003 he made his major league debut going 1-for-1 with a base hit against the Seattle Mariners. Ford played for the Twins from 2003-2007, with his best season coming in 2004 when he hit 15 Home Runs, drove in 72 RBI and stole 20 bases.
In 2012, Ford started the season with the Ducks, but was signed by the Baltimore Orioles organization midway through the season and eventually made it back the major leagues for the first time since 2007. He hit .183 with three home runs and four RBI in 25 games for the Orioles. Ford has a career .268 batting average with 35 home runs and 176 RBI in the major leagues.
