The Somerset Patriots announced today that they have signed former major league pitcher Carlos Fisher for the 2014 season.

Fisher was originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 11th round (332rd overall) of the 2005 MLB Draft. He pitched five seasons in the Reds minor league system before making his major league debut on May 24, 2009. In his debut he pitched a scoreless eleventh inning, earning
a victory after an Alex Gonzalez walk-off double at the bottom of the inning.

During his major league career he posted a 2-5 record with a 4.78 ERA in 98 innings pitched.

"I played with Carlos briefly in the Venezuela Winter League and he was a great player on the field and a great guy in the clubhouse. He brings years of MLB experience to our bullpen and we expect great things from him. He has a deadly 1-2 pitch punch versus a hitter which makes him very valuable to any bullpen" said Jon Hunton Director of Player Personnel for the Patriots.
