Glens Falls Eagles Become Glens Falls Dragons, Former Met Jon Matlack Joins Their Coaching Staff

Glens Falls Dragons new logo
There was some exciting off-season news surrounding the PGCBL this week. The former Glens Falls Eagles announced a name change and will now be known as the Glens Falls Dragons. Here is their new logo!

I really love this logo. It's great to see a team in the PGCBL re-brand their organization to gain excitement surrounding the team and bring in new fans.

The Dragons also made a splash by adding two former major league pitchers to their coaching staff in Dave Palmer and Jon Matlack.

Most people will remember Matlack from his days pitching for the Mets. In 1972, Matlack won Rookie of the Year honors.  The following year along with Tom Seaver, and Jerry Koosman he helped pitch the Mets into the 1973 World Series. Matlack pitched 13 years in the major leagues and finished his career with a 125-126 record with a 3.18 ERA between the Mets and Texas Rangers.

It will be exciting to see these former big league pitchers in the dugout next season. They will only help the development of players, draw in fans, and grow the organization and league.
