Here's a snippet from the ValleyCats press release about the event:
"TROY, NY - The Tri-City ValleyCats, Class A Short Season affiliate of the Houston Astros, will host their 2nd Annual Education Day at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium on Wednesday, June 17 at 10 a.m., as part of an exhibition game versus the Albany Dutchmen of the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League.
The game will coincide with an all-encompassing educational field trip opportunity for local schools, focused on character development, anti-bullying facets, and traditional educational subject matter as it relates to the game of baseball."
This will be an extremely exciting event for baseball fans in the capital region since it's the first time in recent history that a minor league baseball team will play a college summer league team in an exhibition. You don't see events like this very often. Many of the players on the ValleyCats will be fresh out of high school or college and have signed professional contracts, while many of the Dutchmen will be underclassmen in college looking to eventually sign pro deals. It will be interesting to the difference in the level of play...if there is even that much of a difference.
