#1 Alabama - Never ever ever count out a Nick Saban coached team. The Crimson Tide rebounded from a hiccup against Ole Miss and rolled through the rest of their schedule including a beat down of rival LSU. Derrick Henry (who will win the Heisman Trophy) is a machine that can wear down a defense. Alabama's defense will feast of the Gators in the SEC Championship game and roll into the playoff. There is too much talent on this team for them not to be playing for a national championship.
#2 Oklahoma - Much like Alabama, the Sooners rely on a solid running game and outstanding defense. However, Oklahoma has a better field general in Baker Mayfield. He's the difference maker for this team. Many counted out Oklahoma after they lost to Texas but the bounced back. They're the real deal. I think by not playing in a conference championship actually helps their cause unlike TCU and Baylor last year.
#3 Michigan State - The Spartans shouldn't be here. Let me say that again...the Spartans shouldn't be here, but they are. If it wasn't for a miracle against Michigan the Spartans would have two losses and wouldn't even be in the playoff conversation. I don't see Iowa being much of a problem for Michigan State.
#4 North Carolina - They might just be the hottest team in college football since week two of the season. The only blemish on their schedule is a week one loss to South Carolina. Their offensive is explosive and they have tremendous balance between the run and pass. Their defense can be a little shaky but I think they can win in a shootout. They'll upset Clemson in the ACC championship game.
