New York Mets prospect and 2011 first round pick (13th overall), Brandon Nimmo will make his major league debut batting 7th and playing right field for the Mets today.

Nimmo has been a project for the Mets since they took him in the first round back in 2011. He didn't get a chance to play as much baseball growing up in Wyoming. Since then he's grown into his body and developed some power over the last few seasons.  He's a solid hitter who can get on base.

During this past off-season Nimmo had surgery to repair a tendon in his left food. He returned with vengeance hitting .328 with Las Vegas in the Pacific Coast League so far this season.

I got a chance to meet Brandon while he was playing for Binghamton in 2014. He's very quiet, humble, and just goes about his business.  He's only going to get better as he continues to play. He doesn't have huge power numbers but can get on base, something the Mets desperately need. He's a great kid, and should well into the Mets clubhouse.

Best of luck to Brandon!
