On August 3, 2016, Bryant Nelson broke the Atlantic League all-time hits record with his 1,053 career hit breaking the previous record held by Somerset Patriot great, Jeff Nettles.

An eleven year veteran of the Atlantic League, Nelson spent time in the major leagues with the Boston Red Sox in 2002, where he batted .265 in 25 games.

Nelson found a home in the Atlantic League after signing with the Bridgeport Bluefish in 2006 and has played for a majority of the teams in the league including Bridgeport, Long Island, Camden, Lancaster, York, and Southern Maryland.

Bryant Nelson loves baseball. He could have hung up like many players before him but he truly loves the game. I don't care what level of play or what league an accomplishment like this is amazing. Congratulations to Bryant, one of the greats of the Atlantic League.
