Building An (Albany) Empire, Part 6 - Empire Add Five More To Roster

The Empire keeps building. Five more players have been named to the Albany Empire roster including offensive lineman Ryan "Big Cave" Cave, receiver Jordan Williams, defensive lineman Calvin Fance, defensive back Erick McIntosh, and linebacker Wesley Mauia

Cave, an offensive lineman/fullback from South Carolina and Hampton University, started in the AFL with the Spokane Shock. Afterwards, he played 16 games with the Orlando Predators, and then a season with the Jacksonville Sharks, before helping the Tampa Bay Storm to the ArenaBowl. 

Williams, a native of Buffalo, NY., played two years at Edinboro University before transferring to Liberty University, and then transferred back to Edinboro for his senior collegiate year where he racked up over 600 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns. He has spent time at rookie minicamp with the Buffalo Bills and is one of the few Empire athlete hailing from New York State.

Fance, an All-American defensive lineman out of Angelo State University, was one sack away from capturing the college single season record with 14.5 sacks. He made his AFL debut with the Philadelphia Soul, and eventually, ended up with the Orlando Predators in 2015 and 2016 under Coach Rob Keefe. In 2017, he joined the Baltimore Brigade where he racked up 17 tackles. 

Mauia, played at University of Montana and Western New Mexico University before starting his professional football career. He started with the San Antonio Talons and since then, has played with San Jose, New Orleans, Las Vegas, and Philadelphia, where he won a Championship with the Soul in 2016. 

McIntosh attended Florida Atlantic University where he made 53 tackles in just four starts. Afterwards, he joined the Tampa Bay Storm where he was named Player of the Week several times. In 2014, he played under Coach Keefe for the Orlando Predators before heading to the Jacksonville Sharks where he helped lead them to a NAL championship and was named to the All-NAL first team.
