Tommy Grady started his collegiate career at the University of Oklahoma before transferring to the University of Utah. He completed 77 of 143 passes for 846 yards, six touchdowns, and six interceptions during his college career.

After college Grady played one season with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of the AF2 before joining the Utah Blaze in 2011.

After an outstanding first season with the Blaze in 2011, Grady put together the single greatest season in AFL history in 2012. That season, Grady would set league records in passing attempts (743), completions (507), yards (5,870), and touchdowns (142). He also set a league record with 12 passing touchdowns in one game. Grady was named to the All-Arena First Team, AFL Offensive Player of the Year, and AFL MVP that season.

Grady played one more season for the Blaze in 2013, before joining the Pittsburgh Power in 2014. That season he threw for 4,717 yards and 115 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

Grady joined the Jacksonville Sharks for the 2015 and 2016 season. He continued his success as an elite arena quarterback throwing for over 4,400 yards and 90 touchdowns in each of those seasons.

The Sharks left the AFL the following season and become members of the newly-created National Arena League. Grady stayed with the team and played in five games for the team that season before suffering a season-ending football injury.
