College Hockey Roundup (10/20/18 - 10/21/18): Union Sweeps, RPI Struggles, Army Splits

The Union College Dutchmen pulled off an impressive sweep of #12 ranked Northeastern this past weekend in Boston. 

Darion Hanson has 1.99 GAA on the season for Union College.
On Friday night, the Dutchmen defeated the Huskies 4-3 on Cole Maier's goal at 0:23 of overtime. Brett Supinski had two goals and an assist on the night, while sophomore goalie Darion Hanson stopped 37 shots in net. 

Union finished off the weekend sweep on Saturday with a 3-1 win. The Union defense was in lockdown mode as they blocked 16 shots and Hanson stopped 31 shots in net. Sebastian Vidmar had two goals in the win for the Dutchmen.

Hanson finished the weekend series with a 2-0 record, 1.99 GAA and a .944 save percentage. The Dutchmen (4-0-1) jumped up to #11 in the USCHO.com poll after their impressive weekend. 

Union will play a home-and-home series with RPI this weekend. 

RPI (0-3-0) played two solid periods but struggled in the third period in a 3-1 loss to UConn this past weekend. Will Reilly accounted for the only Engineer goal which brings the team's total to three on the season. Linden Marshall continues to be solid in net, stopping 29-of-32 shots he faced.

Army West Point split a two-game series with the Robert Morris in Pennsylvania over the weekend. 

Trevin Koslowski continued his solid play on Friday night stopping 22-of-24 shots in net and Trevor Fidler and Tipper Higgins both scored goals for the Black Knights.

Army picked up a huge 5-2 win on Saturday night after an offensive explosion in which five different players scored goals and 11 different players had a point. Trevin Koslowski picked up his second win of the season in net for the Black Knights stopping 20-of-22 shots in net. 

Army is 2-0-1 in their last three games, all of those games have been started by Koslowski. Over that span, Koslowski has a 2.01 GAA and .916 save percentage. 

The Black Knights (2-2-1) will head back to Pennsylvania this weekend for a tough weekend matchup with Mercyhurst.
