The Engineers (2-3-0) jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on first period goals from seniors Donovan Ott and sophomore Todd Burgess. They extended their lead to 3-0 at 9:53 of the second period when Ott netted his second goal of the game. Brady Wiffen added a power play goal five minutes later to extend the Engineers lead to 4-0.

Union College mounted a third period comeback with goals from Ryan Walker and Vas Kolias in third period but couldn't get any closer.
